You also get several driver-assist features standard like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, driver drowsiness monitoring, curve control, forward-collision warning, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rearview camera. The standard features you get include the SYNC infotainment system, cloth upholstery, MyKey, a six-speaker audio system, 4.2-inch display, and a single USB port. S: The base model features the three-cylinder engine and an automatic eight-speed transmission combo with front-wheel-drive. There are four trim levels available for the new Ford Escape. With the available adaptive cruise control, the automatic emergency braking system's speed range is increased to the maximum speed of the vehicle. There are audible and visual alerts if anything is detected. With the rear cross-traffic warning, any time the vehicle is in reverse the system scans the area around it and on either side. The icon flashes if you attempt to go into that lane. It lets you know when another vehicle is there, with an icon appears in the mirror on the side where it appears. The blind-spot alert system monitors the flanks of the SUV. Pedestrians are recognized at speeds between three and 50 MPH. It also reduces the severity of such if it's unavoidable. The forward collision system helps reduce the chances of having a frontal crash with other vehicles or pedestrians.

Also, many things that operator manuals either don't explain at all or don't explain it easily enough. So many settings on modern day cars and sometimes when we find them we wonder why we couldn't have found them sooner. It is just a case of using the Camera's Rear Park Aid On/Off Setting. Can't be driving down the road for possibly hours with the backup camera wanting to warn about something behind it by putting out a steady loud sound. With a little experimenting I found out how easy it is to turn it on and off. It is not a beep but a continuous loud noise. That continuous loud noise can be very annoying.
